When people think about visiting Taiwan, they often think about the capital, Taipei. However, there are some hidden gems in Taiwan that are also worth visiting.
In my opinion, a road trip around the whole island would be a great way to explore Taiwan. I have personally done it a few times.
One easy itinerary is to rent a car in Taipei and return it in Kaohsiung, then take the HSR (High-Speed Rail) back to Taipei.
You can choose the east route to visit Yilan, Hualien, Taitung, Pingtung, and Kenting, or the west route to visit Taichung, Sun Moon Lake, Alishan, Tainan, Kaohsiung, and Kenting.
When staying in Kaohsiung, Hotel Dùa is a good option.
I have been staying at this hotel since it first opened. This time, I used a NT$3300 per night promotional offer from American Express and was upgraded to a 36-square-meter room.
Considering it's not a new hotel, the maintenance of its facilities is decent. The interior design features dark tones, creating a relaxing ambiance.
The hotel's location is convenient, within walking distance of the Liuhe Night Market. The nearby Formosa Boulevard MRT Station also provides easy access to transportation.
The hotel's amenities are simple, with only a small fitness gym, a breakfast area on the top floor, and the Yuepin Chinese Restaurant. The food is decent but nothing particularly impressive.
In conclusion, Hotel dùa is a moderately sized boutique hotel, and I would definitely stay there again."
