Restaurant review of Tung Po Kitchen, Hong Kong
Visited in March 2023
I was introduced to this restaurant by my friends in Hong Kong. It can be challenging to secure a reservation, so I highly recommend booking in advance if you want to enjoy some delicious food and experience the local Dai Pai Dong (大排檔) culture in Hong Kong.
"Dai pai dong is a type of open-air food stall. The term originates from Hong Kong but has been adopted outside Hong Kong as well. The official government name for these establishments is "cooked-food stalls." ~ Wikipedia
Tung Po Kitchen is known for its lively atmosphere, delicious seafood and Cantonese dishes, and unique dining experience. The restaurant is also famous for its graffiti-covered walls and the owner's charismatic personality, making it a must-visit for both locals and tourists. Customers can expect to enjoy a wide range of seafood dishes, including clams, scallops, crabs, and more, as well as other popular Cantonese dishes such as sweet and sour pork, stir-fried noodles, and fried rice.
